SLOW COOKING RECIPES & INSTRUCTIONS


EXTRA LARGE CHUNK MOMMY CHICKEN SOUP/STEW: Is a basic Chicken Vegetable Stew that can double as chicken soup by adding more water when the stew is finished cooking.

INGREDIENTS:

For a 41/2 Quart(4.3L)Cooker
STEW: Makes about two quarts(1.9L)

1. Add: 2-3 potatoes cut in 6-8 pieces each (As in the image above)

2. Add: Three boneless skinned thighs cut into 3 pieces each
    Add: 1/2 a 15 ounce(225ml) can of Cut Green Beans
    Add: 1/2 a can of Corn
    Add: 1/2 can of pinto beans

3. Add: Three medium to large Carrots peeled & Cut in pieces about 3/8inch(10mm) thick

4. Add: 2 large celery stalks cut crosswise into about 1/8th inch(2-3mm) pieces

5. Add: 3 Chicken Flavor Bouillon Cubes

6. Add: 1/2 - 1 cup(75g-150g) of Bushes Original Baked Beans or Equivalent

Select the high temperature and cook for 3-5 hours
It is important to adjust the cooking time to the slow cooker one has.
The cooking temperature varies a lot from cooker to cooker.

I put my cooker in a cookie sheet tray in case I get some boil over while cooking.

I   have struggled for a long time trying to figure out how to cook Steel Cut Oats. I tried saucepans, a steamer that failed miserably and soaking them for hours before cooking them.

I did not like the crunchiness of the cooked oats. Finally, I found a Crockpot model that has a cooking timer that works well.

Note: The Rubber Seal on the cooker lid. It is important.


HOW TO COOK STEEL CUT OATS IN A SLOW COOKER

A TABLESPOON OF CHERRY JELLY MIXED IN

  1. INGREDIENTS:
  2. For a 4 1/2 Quart (4.3L) cooker pour 8 cups (1.65L) of water into the cooker.
  3. Add 1 cup (125g) of steel cut oats
  4. Stir with a whisk for 10-15 seconds
  5. Select the high temperature and cook for 1 to 4 hours. It is important to adjust the cooking time to the slow cooker one has.
    The cooking temperature varies a lot from cooker to cooker.
