SLEEP APNEA - CPAP'N
MY STRUGGLE USING A CPAP MACHINE MASK-LEAKS, LEAKS & MORE LEAKS
MY ResMed 10 AUTOSET CPAP MACHINE
MY TITRATION SLEEP STUDY Showed me one thing, but when I got my CPAP machine home it was a whole different world.
My Resmed 10 Autoset Cpap Machine
Resmed Airtouch F10 FULL FACE MASK
Airtouch F20 CushionThe Resmed Aritouch F20 Memory foam Cushion is very comfortable after I got use to its kinks & bumps.
Airfit F20 CushionThis cushion was not my friend! It caused me all kinds of problems. I did not like it from the start. I had severe issues trying to stop air leaks and it did not fit my face well at all. Also because I keep a high temperature in my room, It caused mask moisture buildup in the summer. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH MODERATE SLEEP APNEA. Then I did a CPAP Titration Sleep Study to find out how much pressure my machine would need. I though this was going to be a PIECE OF CAKE for me - WRONG! Little did I realize there are a lot of gotcha events that can happen. I soon found that getting a suitable durable medical supplier was becoming a nightmare.
AT THAT POINT, I believed if my cpap were a boat it would've sunk long-ago. However, I was determined to make it work for me. I already tried a ResMed 10 AirSense and a ResMed 11 - Which I despised. So, I tried a ResMed 10 AUTOSET. Bingo! I really like it because it adjusts the pressure automatically. BOTTOM LINE: It is important for me to keep after it and learn more about cpap machines.
It was not fun to wake up in the morning and go to the ER with a Blood pressure of 171/111 @ 56 beats per minute. It was a very scary experience. My head was in deep vertigo and I could hardly walk. ( I did not drive to the hospital! An Ambulance took me there.)
I AM NOW A BELIEVER IN CPAP MACHINES! . |
