I FOLD AND ROLL UP USED FURNACE FILTERS

CAUTION:   Used filters may contain sharp metal webbing, allergens and or hazardous particles. Be sure to check to make sure it is safe to fold or roll the filter before trying to fold and Roll up a Filter. Also filters may be made of fiberglass or other fibers one should not handle without Gloves at minimum. My filters are 3M Filtrete Basic with plastic cord pleat bridges.

FIRST I FOLD THEM IN HALF

THEN I ROLL IT UP, PUT A PIECE OF TAPE ON IT BEFORE PUTTING THE FILTER IN THE TRASH

  • GAS SPACE HEATERS:   Winter is just around the corner this September, 2021 day. It's almost time to be thinking about space heaters during the winter if needed.
I have an oxygen sensor and it saved my life. I had a propane heater near my bedroom out in the hall several years back and started to go to sleep. But I felt light headed and woozy. I got my oxygen sensor and checked my oxygen absorption level. It was 89%. I shut the heater off and went to sleep. When I woke up in the morning my oxygen level was 96% which is normal for my age so they tell me. Carbon monoxide is not the only danger to heating devices. Flames need oxygen to burn and they are taking YOUR! oxygen. Blue flame space heaters so I am told indicate low oxygen when the flame turns yellow or orange. It is best to read the manufacturers instructions very carefully. When in doubt, shut the heater down. Above all do not go to sleep in a running car because carbon monoxide can seep into the car and be life threating if the car's exhaust system is faulty - especially if the car is an older model .
One thing I never though of years ago: There were three of us sleeping in a room about 9x12 with the door closed. I never thought that three of us breathing could lower the oxygen in the room. If one has COPD it might be wise to leave the door open when in a small room.

  • POTATOES:   I put my potatoes in the Refrigerator Vegetable crisper drawer to keep them from going bad so fast.

  • FLASHLIGHT:   I put a magnetic flashlight on the end of my bathtub in case the electric goes out while I am bathing. The electric goes out here a lot. An alternate way to fasten the flashlight is to use Velcro instead. Be sure it does not get wet.

  • MY FEET HURT:   Arthritis took its toll on my feet. They swelled up from 11 - wide to 12 - XXX wide (6E). I had a hard time finding a soft Extra, Extra Wide shoe. I found a New Balance Walking shoe.

They are extra comfortable and are very soft. They come in a wide variety of sizes and widths. I can now walk with very little pain.

My wife wears this shoe in size 6 - XXX (6E) because I could not find her shoes in Woman's size 6E width. Her feet are very wide and short.

  • IN THE HAT:   Having a terrible time finding your glasses? I partially solved the problem by putting my glasses in my hat after I take it off and then I put my hat on my desk. This works well for me. (Will add Picture soon)
